BOOK IT! New sheets for February are going home today. Goals are K-230 minutes; 1st-240 minutes; 6th-450 minutes. These will be due back on Tues. March. 1
HOT LUNCH: Due to the snow day there was no hot lunch this week. Please let me know if there is a particular day that works for you. Here are the next few weeks. Feb. 9: Schaser’s Feb. 14: Arndt’s Feb. 23: Ms. Ohlmann/Ms. Schulz
UP-COMING DATES: Feb. 7: 100th Day of School Celebration Feb. 7-10: Iowa Basic Testing (grades 6-8) Feb. 9: Possible Oak Park Place? Feb. 11: Early Release @ 1 p.m. Feb. 14: Valentine’s Day Party/ Hot Lunch Feb. 16: Field Trip to Capitol & Children’s Museum Feb. 17: Early Release @ 1 p.m. Feb. 18 & 21: No school (Great Lakes Teachers’ Conference)
6-8th Quarter Project: We have started our 3rd Quarter Project which is the Research Paper. The majority of this project is to be completed outside of the classroom. Each week we will spend time working through the process of researching and writing the paper. Please let me know if you have any questions.
FIELD TRIP: On Wednesday, Feb. 16, we will be going on a Field Trip to visit the State Capitol and the Children’s Museum. Our tour is currently scheduled to start @ 11 a.m. We plan to leave school around 10:15. After the tour we will head to the Children’s Museum where we will have lunch and then spend the rest of our afternoon exploring. Please let me know if you would like to come along with us. We will need at least 1 additional parent volunteer.
100th DAY OF SCHOOL: On Monday, Feb. 7th we will be celebrating our 100th day of school. We will be completing many activities centered around the number 100. The K-1 will be bringing home a bag today that they should bring back on Monday filled with 100 items!
VALETINE’S DAY PARTY: On Monday, Feb 14th we will be having our Valentine’s Day Party. We will be exchanging Valentines, eating hot lunch and playing a lot of fun games.
OAK PARK PLACE: Due to the snow day, we were not able to make it to Oak Park Place this last week. We are hoping to reschedule for this month. But we are waiting to hear back from Terry at Oak Park Place.
