January 2011 Newsletter

A BLESSED NEW YEAR TO ALL:
May the Lord Jesus rule in our hearts with His forgiving love and powerful Word so that our hearts are moved to make 2011 a year of dedicated commitment to the WORD and the WORK of His Kingdom. May we be busy “working while it is day, before the night (of eternity) comes” in spreading the Good News of a Savior for sinful mankind.

FAMILY FUN NIGHT:
Will be held on Friday, January 7th at 7:00 p.m

CHURCH COUNCIL
meets on Sunday, January 9th at 11:15 a.m.

VOTERS:
Don’t forget our Annual Voters’ Meeting to be held on Sunday, January 16th after church. We will be accepting the 2011 budget and holding our elections for the New Year.

HANNAH’S HELPING HANDS:
The Ladies will be meeting on Tuesday, January 18th at 7:00 p.m.

B.O.C.E.
meets Thursday, January 20th at 7:00 p.m.

EVANGELISM COMMITTEE:
Will meet on Sunday, Jan. 23rd at 11:15 a.m.

WANTED:
Any new phone numbers, new e-mail addresses. If any members have gotten a new phone number, new e-mail number or moved to a new address during the past year, please contact Pastor so he can add it to or change it for the 2011 directory. Thanks!

NEW ENVELOPES:
Everyone should have a new box of envelopes for the new year in your mailboxes.

DEVOTIONS AVAILABLE:
There are 10 copies of “The Bread of Life” Bible readings for the year 2011 that are normally found in the Lutheran Spokesman. Due to budget constraints they were not printed in December’s issue. Please take one with you and we pray you use it during the year reading God’s Word. If we run out we will print more.

NEW BIBLE STUDY:
Beginning in January we will be holding a new Bible study on Stewardship—Our Use of our Finances and Blessings in Christ. Much of the study will be based on 2 Corinthians 8 & 9. We encourage all of our confirmed members to come at 9:00 a.m. for Bible Class on Sunday mornings.

WEDNESDAY EVENING BIBLE CLASS:
will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 5th at 7:00 p.m. We will continue our study of the book “Out of Necessity: A History of the CLC.”

CAMPBELLS LABELS:
Don’t forget to keep those Campbell labels for school supplies.
